Heart healthy inside-out cheese burgers

Following a healthy eating plan is extremely important. However, we often tend to stray away from eating what is good for us, and opt for the easiest options instead. Unfortunately, the easiest meals often include fast foods such as fried chicken, fries and burgers. Because of society’s new awareness of the dangers of eatinvg unhealthily, there are now great products on the market that are delicious, healthy, and best of all, easy.

Below is a quick and simple cheese burger recipe. Instead of going to a fast food take-away, spend a few minutes making these scrumptious burgers at home. It’s cheaper, more delicious and heart healthy too:


-          500 grams of extra lean ground beef

-          ¼ cup of grated cheddar cheese

-          ¼ cup of grated mozzarella cheese

-          1 ½ teaspoons of paprika

-          1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

-          1 teaspoon of ground black pepper

-          Wholewheat or rye rolls to serve.


1.)    Pre-heat a griddle-pan to a medium heat and dust lightly with olive oil.

2.)    Mix the cheeses together in a bowl.

3.)    Carefully mix the beef, paprika, sauce and pepper together. Do not over-mix these ingredients.

4.)    With your hands, shape the mixture into 8 smaller patties.

5.)    Layer some of the cheese mixture on top of four of them and then top the burgers off with the remaining four patties so that the cheese is sandwiched between the meat.

6.)    Grill the burgers so that all the cheese melts together and each burger stack becomes one solid patty.

Serve these delicious cheese burgers on soft rye rolls and enjoy.
