Bangers and mash bake

Kids love bangers and mash and they will certainly love this altered recipe that mixes up the original one to create even more delicious flavour.

 Bangers and mash bake


  • 250 ml frozen peas
  • 300 ml water
  • 1 Knorr Country Hot Pot Dry Cook-in-Sauce
  • 2 cans chopped tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 8 beef sausages
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • Robertsons Atlantic Sea Salt
  • Robertsons Freshly Ground Pepper
  • 50 ml Robertsons Mixed Herbs
  • 15 ml margarine
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and cut into quarters
  • 5 ml milk


  1. Heat oil in pan and cook sausages for 8 minutes on medium heat.
  2. At the same time, boil potatoes until soft.
  3. Once sausages are done, set them aside. Drain potatoes and mash. Add margarine, milk and salt to mash. Set aside.
  4. Add onion and garlic to pan and cook until soft.
  5. Add sausages, tomatoes, sachet of Knorr Country Hot Pot Dry Cook-in-Sauce and water to the pan and allow to cook thoroughly.
  6. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius on grill.
  7. Add the peas, seasoning and herbs and cook for 5 minutes.
  8. Pour into a casserole dish and top with mashed potato.
  9. Dab mash with rest of margarine and place under the grill until brown.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
